OUTSIDE CREDIT CLASSES:  Final exams for outside credit classes may be taken at UAF Distance Education office on 2175 University Avenue Suite 200.  The office is open from 8am to 5pm.  Phone number is 479-3444.

OUTSIDE CREDIT CLASSES FOR STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO COMPETE IN AN NCAA DIVISION I COLLEGE:  There are new NCAA rules which limit what classes may be taken via outside credit.  Please see your counselor asap if you plan this option.

AKCIS:  Alaska Career Information System:  This is a most versatile web resource for Fairbanks students and parents.  Connect to AKCIS to explore occupations, military service, colleges and universities, programs of study, scholarship searches.  AKCIS also offers several assessment tools to help students find how their interests, skills, values, and wishes link up with specific careers.  Logon as "westvalley" and use the password "4akcis"

Privacy and confidentiality are essential to having an effective school counseling program. West Valley High School recognizes the importance of good communication and good working relationships between students, parents, and the school. Therefore, every effort will be made to protect student and parent privacy rights except under certain limited conditions. These conditions generally include safety issues (harm to self and/or others), legal issues, and professional responsibilities (ASCA Ethical Standards).
