Welcome West Valley Senior Class of 2026!  Graduation is Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 7 PM!

Congratulations!  You are a Senior!  The West Valley Counseling Staff will be working closely with you throughout the year to help you stay on track for graduation and plan for life after high school.

ALASKA PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIP

With only a few months left in the academic year, we want to provide some helpful reminders about the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS).

  • Submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required for a student to receive an APS disbursement if they are attending a Title IV institution in Alaska.
    • If you are attending a qualified training center in Alaska (that does not receive Title IV federal funds), the student must complete the APS Alternative Application.

  • The Priority Deadline for FAFSA submission is June 30, 2026. Please complete the FAFSA prior to this date to ensure a smoother process in receiving an APS disbursement. NOTE: Students can still complete the FAFSA after June 30th, but APS awarding is not guaranteed.
  • Students must include an Alaska institution as a recipient on their FAFSA.

We recognize that you may experience challenges connected to completing the FAFSA. ACPE offers a variety of FAFSA completion resources and services, including one-on-one and small group FAFSA completion sessions, FAFSA completion downloadable materials, and video tutorials.
