State Testing:

Parents have the right to make educational decisions for their child, including whether to participate in statewide testing. Practice tests, tutorial videos, and additional information can be found on the district website at https://www.k12northstar.org/departments/teaching-learning/parent-student-information/assessments/ak-system-of-academic-readiness-ak-star-ak-science .

• ACT & SAT
  Here are the current ACT & SAT Registration, Costs, Dates & Times of the two exams. This sheet lists the differences between the two exams. Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to take the SAT and ACT as many times as they can to achieve their highest scores. Keep in mind, the APS (Alaska Performance Scholarship) requires a minimum ACT or SAT Score.
  To meet APS *Testing* requirements:
  Students must REGISTER for the ACT  see dates
  Students must REGISTER for the SAT  see dates
  Students must take the ACT/SAT by the dates listed above to qualify for the current year APS. It is suggested that students take the ACT/SAT in Fall of their Junior and Senior year.
  If you are using an ACT Fee Waiver or a SAT Fee Waiver, you can NOT register for the late registration dates in purple listed above.

The College Board website is linked to the payment portal and join codes for each exam are provided.
If you (student) don't have a collegeboard account, you will need to create an account prior trying to sign up for an exam.

*If you are taking a 1 semester AP class that starts in semester 2, you don't have to register and pay until February.
If you are currently in other AP classes and are paying for those exams, you are welcome to pay for your exams for classes that don't start until semester 2.
